Feeling stuffed?

Following the Easter holidays we are perhaps all wondering where exactly did we stuff all of those fantastic Easter treats? Here at Amelia Pearson Interiors we decided to take the feeling of being 'stuffed' to a whole new level by visiting the incredible Natural History Museum in the small Hertfordshire town of Tring.

Anyone blighted with Doraphobia (fear of fur or skins of animals, not a fear of anyone called Dora!!) should avoid the museum at all costs. Yet, for everybody else the museum will present a fascinating and intriguing (albeit slightly morbid) glimpse into one of the world's largest private natural history collections ever assembled.

If real taxidermy specimens are not your thing, you can still integrate the concept into your next interior design project. The children's play room below is taken from one of our latest interior design projects in Buckinghamshire, and is broadly focused around a fun and colourful circus theme. The stunning soft toy stuffed animals were sourced from Hicks and Hicks and we think they really 'bring to life' a plain wall!

Happy to be home?

Bell Entrance.jpg

The wow factor should begin as soon as you enter your front door. Often an overlooked area in lots of properties is the entrance hall, and it is our mission to create stunning spaces that do not end up as a dumping ground for the usual clutter from everyday family life. The entrance from our latest interior design project has cleverly disguised storage space behind a wall featuring beautiful metallic wallpaper. We would love to hear from you if you have a space that you think needs redesigning, please just send us a message.

Triple Word Score

Always wondered what to do with those nostalgic childhood board games you have sentimentally kept tucked in a cupboard somewhere?

Why not put them to good use, as we have in our latest interior design project, The Laurels. Scrabble letters have been cleverly recycled to spell out the name of the different rooms on the newly refurbished doors of the first floor.

Even if your well worn version of this classic game has long since been discarded, 'pick n mix' scrabble tiles in all kinds of guises are always available on Ebay.

We would love to see how other people have recycled elements from other classic boardgames into their interiors, so please send any pictures to us on our new Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts.

Cool Cushions

We absolutely love how these sumptuous velvet and silk cushions, sourced from Liberty have been incorporated into our newly designed living space at our latest interior design project, 'The Laurels'. Located in Hertfordshire, this property has been entirely transformed with playful injections of colour, textures and luxury fabrics.

The Liberty Art Fabric velvet cushions combine classic prints and rich colours and serve to add the finishing touches to this family home. Whilst the Animal Eve Garden silk cushions from Kristjana S Williams in the entrance have already received so many positive comments from visitors.

Take a look at the Liberty and Kristjana S Williams websites to find out more.
